MacBook not turning on are caused by not one case. However, it can be caused by various reason. Here are some simple steps to take when your MacBook stop turning on.
MacBook is receiving power
How do you know if your MacBook is receiving power? First check if your MacBook has sufficient battery power. 2012 and older MacBook has a battery check button, it will have button that show the status and charge in the battery. Newer model do not have battery checker button. Either you may need to assume if you have battery charge in the MacBook.
Check your charging cable, if there any damaged on the cable. check any green light or orange light on the MagSafe connector. Sometime you may need to either take with multiple outlet or test with different charging cable.
Check for signs of Power
After plugging charging cable, power on your MacBook. It may required quiet enviornment. hear for spinning fan noise, Hard drive spinning noise, CD/DVD drive motor startup noice and chimes. Also, check for lights on Caps lock key, keyboard backlight, on LCD apple logo.
Do the PRAM Reset
To clear any previous setting stored in PRAM and preventing the MacBook from turning on. Press and release the power button and immediately press Option + Commant + R + P at the same time until you hear chime or blink in the screen. Repet the process few time.
Do SMC Reset
Ensure your MacBook is off by pressing the power button for 10 seconds and release. Now, press Shift+Contorl+Option and power button at the same time. Hold all these keys for 10 sec.
